ex machina

the eric update - day 608: things are not always as they seem.

the result of the days of living dangerously?

not exactly. unless shoving red crayons up your nose is living on the edge; his countenance is what you'll see if you take his red crayon away.

and the scratched cheek? no, it's not result of a round of fisticuffs with a cousin. rather, odin took a tumble into a tree while out toddling.

so, really there's no need to call the authorities.

Oh Odin! I think you guys are in BIG trouble with a guy who can give a look like that ..at that age!! LOL!

There is a picture of my older brother that is somewhat similar..only made more horrific because my father, at the time, was a professional photographer.

My brother, a baby boomer of the fifties, tried putting "raspberry jelly" up his nose. The photo is in black and white and my father hand tinted the "jelly" red. Sick man! LOL! It is a really great photo with my brother having somewhat a similar and determined look like Odin!!

To warn you in advance, since he has already tried Crayons, in our family there is a history of nose incidents. My sister stuffed a wad of gum up hers at age 3. My other brother..a lovely cats eye marble..shall I go on?

I think we are all over that stage in our lives...for now.

The snowmobiling looks like so much fun. I am envious! Yet I am off to Tenerife next month so shall not complain too much.

toodles

HeatherM in Halifax..who loves popping in on the wonderful adventures of the wisest wee one I know of.

"it is hard to be brave," said piglet, sniffing slightly, "when you're only a Very Small Animal." rabbit, who had begun to write very busily, looked up and said: "it is because you are a very small animal that you will be Useful in the adventure before us."

[ about ]

this site chronicles the continuing adventures of my son, odin, who was unexpectedly born on the fourth of july at 25 weeks gestation, weighing 1 pound 7 ounces.

he's quite a fighter and you can always send him a postcard to the most current address listed here if you're inspired by his adventures. see the postcard project/google maps mashup to see a map of the postcards.

if you're new, you can browse the archives to catch up. and don't forget to watch a few movies that i made while we were in the neonatal intensive care unit. or if you want the abridged version and you can find a copy, you can read about his adventures in the november 2005 issue of parents magazine.
