ex machina

it's that time of year again.

ahh. yes. nothing says spring time like the birds chirping, the trees "leafing out" and me needing a logic board for my ibook .

Ok, your various and scattered posts about the iBook dying in different ways has always made me a bit leery of the new Mac stuff--but I bought an iBook in March anyway--should I get a backup hard drive NOW. I mean, I keep putting it off like a couch potato puts off exercising. And there's work on my iBook now that it would SUCK to lose. Wise words needed!!

You tell me about the iBook and I'll tell you about negativism (as it pertains to a certain Snake Haired Boy!!).

the first rounds of logic board replacements were due to the now well-known logic board problem. now, i think the problems is related to my bad habit of picking up the ibook by grasping the bottom left corner of the keyboard, which create a "torsion" force that does bad things to the logic board. i've tried to retrain myself to not pick it up by the corner, but i'm a creature of habit and now i'm paying the price.

i've had many, many problems with my ibook, but kris has 800MHz 12 inch ibook and hasn't ever had a single problem with it, so i can't honestly say that they're all bad. just don't pick it up by the corner :-)

"it is hard to be brave," said piglet, sniffing slightly, "when you're only a Very Small Animal." rabbit, who had begun to write very busily, looked up and said: "it is because you are a very small animal that you will be Useful in the adventure before us."

[ about ]

this site chronicles the continuing adventures of my son, odin, who was unexpectedly born on the fourth of july at 25 weeks gestation, weighing 1 pound 7 ounces.

he's quite a fighter and you can always send him a postcard to the most current address listed here if you're inspired by his adventures. see the postcard project/google maps mashup to see a map of the postcards.

if you're new, you can browse the archives to catch up. and don't forget to watch a few movies that i made while we were in the neonatal intensive care unit. or if you want the abridged version and you can find a copy, you can read about his adventures in the november 2005 issue of parents magazine.
