the eric update - day 183: chunker!

it's the beginning of the month, which means it's time for another rsv shot.

while the actual shot itself might not be so much fun, it is exciting to see little odin tip the scales at 11 pounds 11 ounces or just about 5.3 kilos! that means he's gained over a pound since his peds visit just over two weeks ago and the little chunker has put on 4 pounds since his first rsv shot.

i guess there's a good reason why mister eats-a-lot is eating a lot. still.

with all this growth, he's moved into the 50th percentile when you look at the growth curve for very low birth weight babies! whoohooo!

soon enough, i suppose his weighins will be quite ordinary affairs and almost nobody will remember when he was 685 grams.

Yay Odin! :) He certianly is putting on the pudge! He looks like he's almost ready to go up a diaper size as well :):). That chubby belly is very yummy looking.

"it is hard to be brave," said piglet, sniffing slightly, "when you're only a Very Small Animal." rabbit, who had begun to write very busily, looked up and said: "it is because you are a very small animal that you will be Useful in the adventure before us."

[ about ]

this site chronicles the continuing adventures of my son, odin, who was unexpectedly born on the fourth of july at 25 weeks gestation, weighing 1 pound 7 ounces.

he's quite a fighter and you can always send him a postcard to the most current address listed here if you're inspired by his adventures. see the postcard project/google maps mashup to see a map of the postcards.

if you're new, you can browse the archives to catch up. and don't forget to watch a few movies that i made while we were in the neonatal intensive care unit. or if you want the abridged version and you can find a copy, you can read about his adventures in the november 2005 issue of parents magazine.
