the postcard project: edison, new jersey.

neil fein, ( perhaps this neil fein? ) sends greetings from edison, new jersey ( which is named for obvious reseasons if you know a thing or two about a famous inventor ) and unintentionally creates yet another conundrum for the postcard project official judges.

he clearly states that he intended to send a card from edison, but couldn't find any non-cheesy cards so he went with a card from nearby, historic "washington crossing" ( hmmmm. so named because of a famous washington crossing? ).

the postcard project judges has issued a controversial preliminary ruling that the card be considered to actually be from edison and not washington crossing.

Quite a pleasant surprise, clicking over to your blog and seeing a very familiar postcard! Yes, I am indeed that Neil Fein, thanks for the link!

thanks for sending the card! glad to see that you're stil visiting :-)

so, was "washington crossing" named for the famous washington crossing? it's not too far from trenton which is where washington led the surprise attack so i'm assuming it's not just a coincidence.

I'm not sure. I had asked about the card at the place I got it, and they weren't certain where it is. But I would think it's either the actual crossing or it's something nearby. There are a lot of little colonial-style villages kept up for tourists that come to visit the Highway State.

Thanks for upkeeping this blog, it provides much-needed perspective. Work problems seem so small when compared to those Eric/Odin has had.

[ about ]

this site chronicles the continuing adventures of my son, odin, who was unexpectedly born on the fourth of july at 25 weeks gestation, weighing 1 pound 7 ounces.

he's quite a fighter and you can always send him a postcard to the most current address listed here if you're inspired by his adventures. see the postcard project/google maps mashup to see a map of the postcards.

if you're new, you can browse the archives to catch up. and don't forget to watch a few movies that i made while we were in the neonatal intensive care unit. or if you want the abridged version and you can find a copy, you can read about his adventures in the november 2005 issue of parents magazine.
