the eric update - day 435: The Awesome Appeal of the Refrigerator!

day 435: The Awesome Appeal of the Refrigerator. I. odin has recently discovered that the refrigerator is a source of endless enjoyment rivalling even the Captivating Container Cupboards and certainly much more fascinating than the Forbidden Foliage.

what possibly could be more perfect than having a seemingly infinite number of oddly shaped objects close at hand perfectly sized for little grasping graspers?

day 435: The Awesome Appeal of the Refrigerator. II. all complete with easily removable paper labels that are presumably quite tasty!

surely it's no wonder why as soon as he hears the refrigerator door open, he comes quickly crawling to take stock of shelves.

i wonder what sort of countermeasures are available to help us when he figures out how to open the door all by himself.

Magdalena has never been able to open the fridge by herself. The suction is to great for her. But it doesn't stop her from going to the fridge and pounding on it. When I open it she goes to "her" drawer and gets out what she pleases. Heh.

Ah, it's so funny. EVERYTHING Odin does, my son Peter does too. And this week especially, with the elusive free standing, the keys and now the refrigerator...

"it is hard to be brave," said piglet, sniffing slightly, "when you're only a Very Small Animal." rabbit, who had begun to write very busily, looked up and said: "it is because you are a very small animal that you will be Useful in the adventure before us."

[ about ]

this site chronicles the continuing adventures of my son, odin, who was unexpectedly born on the fourth of july at 25 weeks gestation, weighing 1 pound 7 ounces.

he's quite a fighter and you can always send him a postcard to the most current address listed here if you're inspired by his adventures. see the postcard project/google maps mashup to see a map of the postcards.

if you're new, you can browse the archives to catch up. and don't forget to watch a few movies that i made while we were in the neonatal intensive care unit. or if you want the abridged version and you can find a copy, you can read about his adventures in the november 2005 issue of parents magazine.
