ex machina

the eric update - day 566: bigger. faster. stronger. and louder.

o.k. we need to slow this train down.

everyday odin can reach new things that used to be unreachable and climb onto furniture that was previously insurmountable and carry things that had been uncarryable and say new things that were recently unsayable.

maybe it's just me, but the old cliche about kids growing up fast seems experientially different when it's your kid and not the neighborhood ankle biter.

i mean nobody told us it'd go by at warp 15.

I know what you mean! I've been lurking on your site since Odin was 16 days old - boy has time flown! I have my own two girls (6 yrs and 2 3/4 yrs) and my little one is just no longer my baby - grown up too quickly. Would you believe that Odin weighs more than my Rachel?? Last week, I had her at the dr's and she weighed in at 25 lbs fully clothed (and she started out full term at 7 lbs 6.5 oz).

You guys are doing a WONDERFUL job with Odin. Enjoy every day - they pass to quickly.

Dawne

ps - I hope you don't mind, but I've forwarded your site to friends who recently had 30wk gestation twins.

My mother always told me that time goes quicker when you have children. Turns out, she was right, as mothers generally are.

Just wait until he starts rolling his eyes and saying 'Whatever Mama'. Just put me in the home now :)

I can totally relate. Where has all the time gone? Odin is getting so big! Great job, mom and pops! Do try to enjoy him while he is young. I try to spend alot of time doing special things with Cap'n now. We are hoping to give him a sibling soon. Man will time fly then. :-/

"it is hard to be brave," said piglet, sniffing slightly, "when you're only a Very Small Animal." rabbit, who had begun to write very busily, looked up and said: "it is because you are a very small animal that you will be Useful in the adventure before us."

[ about ]

this site chronicles the continuing adventures of my son, odin, who was unexpectedly born on the fourth of july at 25 weeks gestation, weighing 1 pound 7 ounces.

he's quite a fighter and you can always send him a postcard to the most current address listed here if you're inspired by his adventures. see the postcard project/google maps mashup to see a map of the postcards.

if you're new, you can browse the archives to catch up. and don't forget to watch a few movies that i made while we were in the neonatal intensive care unit. or if you want the abridged version and you can find a copy, you can read about his adventures in the november 2005 issue of parents magazine.
