the eric update - day 1125: fun at the crawford county fair!

sigh. two years ago, the merry-go-round was the pinnacle of excitement at a fair. now, it barely registers a blip on the fun-time radar, only good perhaps for watching the fair go round in the mirrors on center of the contraption. hi. ho. we still had lots of fun at the crawford county fair.

Hi. This is my first time actually leaving a comment on your blog. My name is Kelly. I'm an American living in Madrid, Spain, and I blog over at Spain Dad, a baby blog (spaindad.blogspot.com).

Anyway, my parents recently visited from Iowa, and we took them and our nine-month-old daughter Alleke to the amusement park here in Madrid.

We were almost on the opposite end of the experience than you because Alleke's just a little too young yet to even ride on the merry-go-round. We kept feeling like we should put her on a ride, so she could have some fun, but in the end, the part she liked best was pulling out grass while we ate our picnic lunch :)

I'm sure next year she'll be ready for some of those kiddy rides.

Love your photos, by the way!

"it is hard to be brave," said piglet, sniffing slightly, "when you're only a Very Small Animal." rabbit, who had begun to write very busily, looked up and said: "it is because you are a very small animal that you will be Useful in the adventure before us."

[ about ]

this site chronicles the continuing adventures of my son, odin, who was unexpectedly born on the fourth of july at 25 weeks gestation, weighing 1 pound 7 ounces.

he's quite a fighter and you can always send him a postcard to the most current address listed here if you're inspired by his adventures. see the postcard project/google maps mashup to see a map of the postcards.

if you're new, you can browse the archives to catch up. and don't forget to watch a few movies that i made while we were in the neonatal intensive care unit. or if you want the abridged version and you can find a copy, you can read about his adventures in the november 2005 issue of parents magazine.
